The legal community in Kenya is in mourning and demanding urgent action after the assassination of Mathew Kyalo Mbobu, a senior advocate, scholar, and mentor. He was shot dead in a drive-by attack on Magadi Road, Nairobi, in the early evening of Tuesday, September 9.
Mbobu, who served as Chair of the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal and lectured at the University of Nairobi, was known for his decades of service, integrity, and dedication to the rule of law.
With us now is Faith Odhiambo, President of the LSK, to reflect on what this loss means, for the profession, for justice, and for society at large.
