Kenya has become the first African country to secure landmark climate disaster funding. The 700, 000 dollars in funding comes from the Santiago Network on Loss and Damage, a Switzerland-based United Nations mechanism funded by voluntary contributions from developed countries and the international community, it was established in 2019.
