In just 48 hours, the government of South Africa is expected to roll out the red carpet as the President of Kenya, William Ruto begins his highly-anticipated three-day State Visit to the country. The visit is expected to involve a high-stakes push to accelerate the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), dismantle stubborn trade bottlenecks, and secure collaborative regional security agreements. As Nairobi aggressively pursues its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and Pretoria steers its seventh administration, both nations are looking to convert political goodwill into tangible, pocketbook benefits for their citizens.
