Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to support farmers across Africa, providing access to information on weather, crops and markets. But the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization says most smallholder farmers are still being left out because of poor connectivity, limited infrastructure and a lack of digital skills. Meshack Malo, the FAO's Deputy Regional Representative for Africa, told UN News's Feissal Kirwa that fewer than 10 percent of farmers currently benefit from digital agriculture services.

Algeria and Mali are currently undergoing a diplomatic reset to repair relations after a severe almost two- year  conflict brought ties to an all-time low.
