The East African countries endorsed former Kenyan Prime Minister, Raila Odinga to contest for the African Union Commission chairperson position.

The new chairperson will take from Moussa Faki Mahamat whose term is coming to an end at the next AU summit in February next 2025.

African heads of states gathered in Kenya, this week to launch the campaign for the east Africa candidate.
