As health authorities work to contain the latest outbreak, officials say building trust, combating misinformation and encouraging people to seek treatment early are proving just as important as medical interventions. The World Health Organisation says response teams are working closely with local communities, traditional leaders, youth groups and healthcare workers to ensure that lifesaving information reaches those most at risk. WHO Africa's Director for Health Emergency Preparedness and Response, Dr Marie-Roseline Belizaire, spoke to UN News about why community engagement remains a critical weapon in stopping the spread of the virus. Vote counting continues following the country's 7th general election, which took place on June 1.
