Wednesday marked a major leap forward for South Africa's Gauteng innovation economy as the province broke ground on a landmark R83.1 million infrastructure project at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria. Known as Enterprise Building 3, or EB3, the development is part of a R2.5 billion master plan to expand South Africa's leading science and technology precinct. Backed by a strong public-private partnership involving the Gauteng government, private investors, and ABSA Bank, this project is expected to boost job creation, research commercialisation, and green innovation. With the Water Research Commission already confirmed as the anchor tenant, the EB3 initiative sends a strong message about the power of collaboration in driving economic growth. Joining Peter Ndoro to unpack the significance of this investment is Bangani Mpangalasane, CEO of The Innovation Hub Management Company.
