The families whose loved ones died in the Life Esidimeni tragedy in the Gauteng province of South Africa say their closure will come after seeing those responsible for their deaths being prosecuted.
In 2016 144 mental health patients died after they were transferred from a registered Life Esidimeni hospital to non-registered and unlicensed non governmental organisations.
Last year the Pretoria High Court ruled that the former MEC Qedani Mahlangu and Head of Mental Health Dr Makgabo Manamela can be held criminally liable for some of the deaths.
