Police in South Africa have launched an investigation after bodies of five women were discovered in the East of Johannesburg in the Gauteng province in the past two months. The latest body was found yesterday, the police have deployed a multidisciplinary task team and advised women to avoid exercising or walking alone in isolated areas. While authorities have not ruled out a serial killer, they are also checking whether separate perpetrators or "copycat" killers are responsible. No one has been arrested.
