The need for homes in South Africa is enormous with families waiting for government housing often living in makeshift shelter long-term.

Five vulnerable families in Orange Farm -south of Johannesburg will soon be new homeowners thanks to Habitat for Humanity South Africa the Industrial Development Corporation, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and other stakeholders.

This formed part of the many initiatives globally to commemorate International Nelson Mandela Day.
