Can fashion do more than set trends and shape culture? Can it also bring people together and promote peace? Fashion designer and environmentalist Runa Ray believes it can. Her exhibition, Repurposing Fashion: Reimagining Peace, is now on display at the United Nations headquarters in New York, transforming discarded textiles into works of art carrying messages of peace from 30 countries. Speaking to UN News' Cristina Silveiro, Ray explains why she believes fashion has a purpose beyond glamour.
