In an era increasingly defined by misinformation, disinformation, the role of journalists and credible media outlets has never been more critical.

In an interview with Channel Africa during the on-going seminar on Freedom of the Press: Challenges in the Digital Age in Germany, Professor Dr. Gernot Wolfram of MacroMedia University and the Federal Agency for Civic Education in Berlin, has made an urgent call to action for media professionals.

Professor Wolfram also reflected on Germany's post-World War II media landscape, the erosion of public trust fueled by so-called alternative media, emphasizing that while fact-checking remains a cornerstone of journalism, it is no longer sufficient on its own in a digital environment saturated with emotionally charged propaganda.
