A South African mining specialist has attributed the rising sinkholes in Khutsong township located in the Gauteng province of South Africa to the area being dolomitic.
The township, which is located in the former mining area of Carletonville a major mining town in South Africa is also known as one of the world's richest gold-producing areas has been experiencing sinkholes for several years.
Some residents have been relocated, however others are resisting the move.
