Eskom's National Transmission Company of South Africa (SA), NTCSA, began operations, taking charge of the country's national transmission system.

This launch, announced by Eskom, the Department of Public Enterprises, and NTCSA, is seen as a significant step in Eskom's restructuring and recovery efforts.

The NTCSA is part of Eskom's division into three entities-generation, distribution, and transmission.

Several civil society organisations led by the Aids Healthcare Foundation gathered in Johannesburg, South Africa, to call on the European Union( EU) to stop blocking Health Equity ahead of the final negotiations of the World Health Organisation Pandemic Treaty. They say the treaty cannot move forward until the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing ( PABS) Annex is finalized.   The Annex determines how pathogen samples are shared and whether all countries benefit from vaccines.
