The humanitarian situation in Sudan continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate, with millions at risk of famine amid ongoing conflict and displacement. The World Food Programme (WFP) has now issued an urgent warning: unless critical funding gaps are closed within weeks, food assistance to the most vulnerable populations will be severely disrupted. Out of the nearly 800 million dollars WFP appealed for to support seven million people between May and September, a staggering $698 million remains unfunded.
