China's Ambassador to South Africa, Wu Peng, has highlighted China's role as a key investor in Africa's infrastructure.

He emphasized that the just concluded 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is geared towards addressing Africa's pressing needs for sustainable development and industrialisation.

Ambassador Peng made these remarks during a National Press Club discussion hosted by the Chinese Embassy.

Libya has been grappling with political fragmentation and instability since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, leading to years of division between rival factions.

After more than a decade of turmoil, including a failed election attempt in 2021, talks happening in Morocco have brought together delegations from two key legislative bodies-the High Council of State in Tripoli and the House of Representatives in Benghazi.

He has served as the Chair of the United Nations Statistics Commission. He was also the founding chair of the Statistics Commission of Africa (StatCom Africa).

He is the Founder of the Pan African Institute for Evidence. A Researcher who has written intensively about socio-economic issues on the continent, especially in South Africa. In a recent piece, he argues that the country could learn a lot from its former coloniser British.
