Haier, a China-based multinational home appliances manufacturer, has officially entered the South African market. The company says the move positions South Africa as its starting point for expansion into the rest of the African continent. The launch, which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, brought together government representatives, diplomats and business leaders to discuss investment, energy efficiency and industrial development.
