As World Hunger Day is observed today (May 28) millions of children across the African continent continue to starve. A recent report by the United Nations Childrens' Fund (UNICEF), has revealed that child poverty is on the rise in Mozambique.
The report states that around 13 million live in poverty whether monetary, multidimensional, or both. Furthermore children are more likely to experience monetary poverty than adults, with younger children ages zero to 12 being particularly affected.
World Hunger Day is an annual event where people raise awareness and take action to end hunger. The day serves as a reminder that hunger is a persistent problem that needs to be addressed.
