In an effort to address youth unemployment in South Africa, CATHSSETA a skills development authority and McDonald's South Africa, have unveiled a skills development partnership.

The partnership will see the training of more than one thousand young people into the job market.

On The Discourse this morning, we turn our attention to the future of Africa, a new generation of thinkers, artists, researchers, and storytellers is asking an urgent question: What does it mean to imagine African futures through African lenses? The  Africa Foresight Network is hosting the ongoing Origins & Horizons: Weaving from African Futures conference, currently underway in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the centre of the gathering is a powerful question: If we anchor futures thinking in African worldviews, can we transform foresight from a borrowed theoretical exercise into a deeply rooted culture of anticipation? To help us answer that question, Peter Ndoro spoke to Professor Suyi Davies Okungbowa, Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Ottawa, in Canada
