Catholic Conclave of Cardinals has elected Chicago-born Robert Francis Prevost

The Catholic Conclave of Cardinals has elected Chicago-born Robert Francis Prevost as the first American Pope.

Prevost will be known as Pope Leo the 14th.

His historic election follows the death of Pope Francis on April 21st at the age of 88.

Pope Leo is almost 20 years younger at just 69 and has already received congratulations from US President Donald Trump and leaders from around the world.
