Amnesty International has called for the creation of a commission to investigate the deaths of scores of people from what it describes as "the use of unlawful police force" in Kenya. The report describes that events that took place on 25 June when some demonstrators briefly stormed parliament. More than 50 people were killed in the months-long protests over a controversial finance bill, creating President William Ruto's biggest crisis since taking office in 2022.
