A group of Zimbabwean war veterans has demanded that President Emmerson Mnangagwa leave office peacefully, while describing him as not fit to run this country.
Led by Zanu PF central committee member Blessed Runesu Geza, the liberation fighters convened a news conference in Harare.
Analysts say the call represents one of the strongest pushbacks against plans to prolong Mnangagwa's stay in power until 2030.
Zanu PF has said it will go ahead and reward Mnangagwa with an extra two years when his final term ends in 2028 through a constitutional amendment so that he completes his vision of transforming the country.
