In this edition of Africa of the Future we discuss issues of youth participation in democracy and governance and we consider whether Africa is free or just independent. We feature two academics and activists – one is Jean Bwasa, founder of Right2Life from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Samson Itodo who is the founder of Iyaga which started a global campaign called Not Too Young To Run.

Africa of the Future celebrates 50 years of the OAU, now known as the African Union, we explore the victories and challenges of its history and look forward into the future.
