International Widows Day on June 23 is observed in Cameroon with women joining widows to plead with government and traditional rulers to stop harmful practices like sleeping necked and hungry for several weeks to prove widows did not kill their husbands.
Some of the widows say they are being forced to marry their husbands brothers or lose all landed property acquired while their spouses were alive.
