Preparations are well in advance for the fourth edition of the Conference on Land Policy in Africa (CLPA) in Rwanda next month.

The hybrid event will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of November under the theme: "Land governance for safeguarding art, culture and heritage towards the Africa We Want".

It is organised by African Land Policy Centre (ALPC), a joint initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

It will be co-hosted by the Government of Rwanda. To discuss this further we spoke to Dr Joan Kagwanja, Chief of ALPC….

This event will be running for the whole week under the theme of "Ahead of the Curve: What's Next for Comms in Africa?".

Africa Communications Week is observed annually during Africa Month, and it is a global campaign targeting and open to all communications professionals with African interests.

Africa communications week kicks off in South Africa

The South African Medical Association- has warned that the country is likely to get monkeypox and should therefore prepare to respond immediately.

As cases of monkeypox spread in the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia, the World Health Organisation says 50 more suspected cases are being investigated.

Meanwhile, African journalists have slammed media agencies using images of Black people alongside stories of the monkeypox outbreak in predominantly white countries.

Media Lecturer at the Durban University of Technology, Sphulelele Zondi is one of the African journalists who has lambasted the use the pictures of Black people with the reporting on the monkeypox disease outbreak...

African journalists slam use of black people on monkeypox reporting

The global community is today honouring nurses for their critical contribution to society as caregivers. International Nurses Day, which is annually observed on the 12th of May also coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. The day also serves as an opportunity to highlight challenges that still persist in the nursing profession. This year's theme of commemoration is "Nurses A Voice to Lead - Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health". Josiah Machialo, Nursing Assistant Manager at Helen Joseph Hospital in South Africa tells us about his nursing journey
