The World Health Organisation (WHO), has reiterated that Africa has the ability to solve its own issues. The world health body also revealed that 114 outbreaks occurred on the continent last year, but they were effectively managed. One example is the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was controlled in a record time of sixty days. Speaking on the sidelines of the Joint Meeting of SADC Ministers of Health, in South Africa, Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration at SADC, Angele Makombo Ntumba highlighted a number of issues compounding the region's health burdens.
