The World Health Organisation (WHO) launched its Disability Health Equity Initiative this week to tackle the unfair health gaps faced by people with disabilities.

Over 1.3 billion people live with disabilities, yet they are still among the most marginalized globally.

This emerged at the Council of Ministers of SADC in Pretoria, convened to deliberate on the implementation of regional integration programmes. As Bonolo Maribe reports, the meeting is being chaired by South Africa's International Relations and Co-operation Minister, Ronald Lamola
