Tanzania's opposition leader and CHADEMA chairperson, Tundu Lissu, has returned to the High Court in Dar es Salaam as his high-profile treason trial resumes after a five-month delay. The case had been on hold since February due to a prosecution appeal, but proceedings have now moved into the evidentiary stage following a ruling by the Court of Appeal. Lissu, who has spent more than 450 days in detention, faces treason charges linked to remarks about the country's general elections, a case that continues to draw regional and international attention.
