Scientists warn of plastic health threats as UN talks resume

As global talks resume in Geneva to finalize a United Nations (UN) treaty aimed at ending plastic pollution, a new warning has emerged from the pages of The Lancet.

A group of leading scientists is calling for urgent action to address the serious and growing health threats linked to plastics.  

Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to  Professor Philip Landrigan, co-author of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Plastics, Professor of Biology at Boston College in the US, and Director of the Global Observatory on Planetary Health.
