South Africa (SA) is mourning the passing of former Deputy President David Mabuza, who has died at the age of 64 in a Johannesburg hospital. Mabuza, who served as Deputy President from 2018 to 2023, was a key figure in the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and previously served as premier of Mpumalanga Province.
Known for his behind-the-scenes political influence, he played a pivotal role in President Cyril Ramaphosa's rise to power in 2017.
