As South Africa marks Human Rights Month, organisations are raising concern about the state of childhood in the country. Save the Children South Africa has launched its Right to Childhood and Protection Campaign, calling for urgent action to address violence, hunger and neglect affecting children. The organisation says protecting children must become a national priority and is urging communities, leaders and the public to play a role in safeguarding children's rights.
