In an effort to advance women's rights in Africa, the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), has been called upon to lead a co-ordinated and urgent campaign for the ratification of the African Union Convention on the elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (AU-CEVAWG).
The Convention, adopted by the African Union in 2024, marks the first comprehensive and legally binding continental framework solely dedicated to eradicating violence against women and girls.
