More than 1.3 million people in South Sudan’s Jonglei and Greater Pibor regions are grappling with severe food insecurity, worsened by conflict, climate shocks, and economic challenges.

In response, South Korean peacekeepers deployed with the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) are working alongside local communities to improve food production. Their efforts include introducing new farming techniques and training young people in practical skills that can both strengthen livelihoods and contribute to peacebuilding.
