Opposition groups in Zimbabwe have announced their withdrawal from the ongoing public consultations on the Constitution Amendment Bill No. 3, citing violent scenes during hearings in Harare.
Parties including the Democratic Change Party (DCP), Citizens Democratic Front (CDF), and the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) say they will no longer participate in the parliamentary process. Instead, they plan to mobilise alongside war veterans and church groups to resist the proposed amendments, raising fresh concerns about the inclusivity and credibility of the reform process.
Mpho Sithole spoke to Job Sikhala, a Zimbabwean politician and current Chairman of the National Democratic Working Group.
