View descriptionShare

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, together with the United Nations in South Africa and the Graça Machel Trust, has launched a new children’s book aimed at bringing global development goals to life for young readers.

Tando and Freddy’s Big SDG Adventure: A Journey with Tata Madiba introduces the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through an inspiring African story designed to engage children and encourage active citizenship from an early age.

The initiative highlights the role of storytelling in helping young people understand issues such as poverty, education, equality, health and environmental sustainability, while inspiring them to become agents of positive change in their communities.

To explore how storytelling can shape the next generation’s understanding of responsibility and social change, Mpho Sithole spoke to Karl Muller, Chief Programmes Officer at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
