The South African Parliament has paid tribute to former Congress of the People leader, Mosiuoa Lekota, describing him as a principled leader who helped shape South Africa's democratic institutions. Iran has continued to carry out attacks with missiles and drones shot down as they headed towards countries including Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. NATO air defenses destroyed a missile passing through Iraqi and Syrian airspace as it approached Turkey. A large explosion has been reported in Tehran where Israel said it had begun broad-scale strikes.
