Lookout finals, footy is back good a. I'm James Clements, not to be confused with bab Simon Beaumont. You might have thought that that was him. No, this is the AFL Today Show, brought to you by Top Sport, the home of footy finals exciting times. We are here to make footy you fun, so we do in the AFL Today Show. I'm of course joined by a couple of local dinguses. I don't know. I guess the collective noun is ding guy. We have full blown footy nufs. Maybe AFL experts Alex Doneley over there.

Maybe is a strong word. Definitely not, I'd go with yeah.

Maybe he's doing a lot of heavy lift.

Yeah.

And in between us is the little Feller, the stats boys.

I thought we were over with the Little Feller, but I'm here very excited for the footy finals.

Let's go. He's on four.

Pillows yeah two either way. This is the awesome, awesome set up Thursday Day Show. We usually do a Thursday team show on Thursday, but instead with this bye week before the final start, this is the opportune time where we've got our AFL Today Show Awards coming on Sunday, show. But this is the ten teams that missed out in the finals, the expectations we had for these teams where they ended up. But more importantly, how we bluddy fix them?

What are we going to do? We're going to fix them. We know how to fix these We.

Are the brains. Trust. Do not take any word we say seriously. So with that in mind, make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel. Make sure you're all around the socials for the AFL Today Show because Finals forty is back. Can you feel it? Can you feel it? It's September. Let's just let it get through the weekend. Yeah, September, the greatest time of you. Before we get into fixing these ten teams, gentlemen, let's do some Thursday new Hey, Pendles is back, no surprise. He's still a freak. We used to play basketball, didy. No one's actually brought that up in over four hundred games or twenty seasons for Pendals. Actually, you know that he was like on the same sort of like you know, teams growing up as Paddy Mills. It's incredible, unbelievable. I never one twenty season for Pendals.

That's wild.

He's just been so consistent throughout well deserved, Like I just sided for five more years.

It's just a freak.

It's remarkable that he doesn't suck. No, like he's older than like I don't know you and like Leo put together and this is insane. Yeah, I love it.

Good on it. So they've also announced steel Side Bottom, Will Hoskin, Elliott, and Jeremy how I have all signed on today today as well.

They did five signings in five hours, so this is like they're going for like their last dance or something.

I like that they've actually just done their one on ones and just like shoved him in a half hour meetings for each dunk dunk dun Dun dunk dunk, got the contracts out.

Just there, go on, do it, just do it.

Off we go. There is also some weird chaos going on with like the top of the Collingwood sort of executive tree, where they're like football boss is gone, their president's like yeah, probably not going to go around again, and off they go. So I don't know, it seems like the times they were changing there in Collingwood. But they're going to have one more crack out of probably next year with like the old crew.

Yep.

And we'll see what happens after that. Yeah, there was an edge of a cliff coming at some point, but still pretty.

Help them both take us.

I mean, a couple of deca in your back pocket helps that transition. Pery a bit, I reckon, But either way, Brent Daniels six years, six.

Years, it's a lot of years.

It's a lot of years from.

Squad. He's not just normal brand Daniels anymore.

I like that as twenty thirty one, and you're like, I still reckon. I'm still looking forward to twenty ten. In the back of my brain, I'm like Lebron James. So this is how I like Lebron James did the decision. And so the lead up to that season, that off season, there was lots of NBA teams clearing cap space, the knicks and stuff like that. They'll kick the tires on getting Lebron, and so he has the decision. He goes to Miami, and so my brain is still like, I can't believe like teams or you know, clear and capspace, twenty ten, it's so far away, it's so far in the past now that we're looking at the twenty thirties with AFL content.

Far players twenty thirty two, I think as well. So that's wild, right.

This is one of those AFL pundit vibes that I one hundred percent subscribe to. I think six year extensions are too many, Yes.

Way too many. You don't know what they're going to do in a couple of years, let alone sixty.

I mean the current explosion that is the Melbourne Football Club with players having signed seven year deals. Yeah, to be the Yeah, should we.

Go to Patraca. Let's go to Petrarca. Yah. So the Petrarca news that we sort of talked about on yesterday's Midweek Madness show, which was like a lot of this has sort of been this, you know, rampant speculation of like has he requested to try blah blah blah. It does sort of come out now that he's like basically told his teammates he's like, eh, boys or me out. I don't like this.

He's been very honest and open with all this, which a lot of a refresh.

Yeah, it is refreshing. Also fans being weird about blaming his wife or fiance.

So I really I did hit on this in yesterday's show. So if I got injured at work. I got injured work, and work like, nah, Jim, You're fine, and I'm like, I nearly died. And then that night if like the boss was just like, ah, like you know, Jim's been injured, We're gonna have to call the missus, call old mate, get on the dog and bone. Yeah, I might, I'll make it through the night. Yeah. And if like no one from work has sort of been in touch around after that, I probably have some problems.

Be annoyed and yeah, you just say.

This goes into the interview that their president did this morning Kate Rothy, and it's like, have you talked to Christian Petraka's family about all this?

Nah? Well, she said not lately. So this is one of those things. Is have we discussed it in the past. Probably, But as all this is popped off, I feel that the first thing you should be doing is getting on the old dog and bone, going how do we fix this? What are we doing here? Christian and your partner and family extension, like just fix it? Yeah, Like this is your job as a president to go. Oh, I need to like be on top of absolutely every aspect of this, because if you think about like the more proactive presidents in the past. Of all, you think about Eddie McGuire, you think about just anybody, right, just anyone who's like got their head on a swivel, Brendan Gale, like, somebody, just go right, we need to fix this right away, smooth this over, get a little sort of out what are they doing? Are they being passive? And just sort of go like, ah, to be fine.

Maybe don't go it's not my job.

I don't know.

Yeah, don't get interviewed if you don't know the full details or you know the questions are going to ask and you can't answer them.

That that was pretty stupid by So yeah.

It's like during the interview, we're in constant dialogue with the players. I regularly talk to the leadership grip, but at the same time, I haven't spoken a Christian or his parents, and I don't know what his grievances are.

What are we doing that is insatity so good and it's gross just misapplication of your job.

Do not like someone's got receipts as well. In September twenty.

Twenty one, I really take the view if something is not going right in the team, and something is not going right with the culture of the club. Then it is my fault as a president. I guess this might be your fault there, Sorry, Kate, I think you might need to look for a new job.

Tough one anither way, So the Patraka stuff has come to a bit more of a head. There was another big article that came out yesterday. Every day is basically, yeah, you're getting more and more and more.

Adam Cooney is so excited for his mega trade right now. Oh yeah, a mega trade.

Yeah, there is a vibe though, I think you've got weird looking old big at himself. Sam McClure standing in front of boards, go here are four things that are wrong. This guy doesn't know how to speak. It's great and he's like, ah, he didn't handle Clayton Oliver good. And then it's like he wants to expand his brand and that really set off fans brand. It's not bigger, that's the club. And you're like, well, he's been playing post retirement. If you're think if you're playing for a team that isn't in the spotlight. And this is another thing. He wants to play a bigger in front of bigger crowds, which is again massive if you think about your off field earning potential. If you're on a team that's playing in front of nobody and has a show a passive supporter base, even though they won a flag in twenty twenty one, you've already sort of brought them to the mountaintop. I'm fine with this. Now ye want a contract, I get it, but this is well within your rights. And then ask for a trade. So off you go. There, you go anyway, build your brand. This is post post footy career vibes.

Very modern thing, but it's good. It's a good thing for the place.

Give him a cooking show. What are we doing?

Ready? Steady cook with Christian Patruck.

Cook The AFL Today Show and the Sports Today Show. Sports Today Network will give you a cooking show mates rates, but we will give you a cooking show twenty bucks. It'll be fine. We've got your back. We'll cover you. And if you do get hit by okay, we will probably call you the next day.

We will probably come there.

Man will sit stay by your bed. That's great.

He might not want the job all right.

Other news, especially concerning Melbourne because you pick it. This came out again to Morning Feeling Room.

Sick, homesick or everyone else is leaving, I would like going as well. I'm out boys.

So West Coast is just like you little bit.

That's Adelaide, isn't he?

That's it. He said he's homesick.

He was born where he grew up.

Though. Yeah, okay, it's like if I was homesick for like, you know, but not balat New York.

You're sick for New York for that.

Yeah. Outside of this is well. Text Walker resigned. Speaking of Adelaide, signed for next week, our next week, year, next week, kick some snags. Hey, guys want to see me kick some snags, snags, snags, snags, one more year for text I'm fine with that.

I'm not I'll say yeah, one more year some injuries. But would have gone, hey, Melbourne, H'm Melbourne.

I do love the idea that they're like, oh, he could make three hundred games. He's like two hundred and seventy out. There's no way he's playing twenty two.

Unless I would have part of the Alex Neil Bullend deal, I'd have been like, yeah, that and something else.

Yep, his text give us a fourth round. There's not four rounds anyway. Text Look I still also feel like you can just clear that out and go thriller and fog off you. Yeah, that's my point, yep, but just keep text around as a goal kicking coach.

Veteran, A good veteran down four touches on the weekend.

And then the final little bit of news is that Kevin Sheety got o Wastes back together.

That's the that's it. That's the news. That is the news.

Yeah.

It was in a Manchester Derby EPL box.

I think this is years ago, but it's come out since Oats are coming back together. This years ago in a Nike box he met Liam Gallagher gave him some advice about reconnecting with his family and his brother, and Leam Gallagher said, I've got some therapists and you those the best advice I've ever received.

I don't know that I reckon. The story is snowball a bit.

It's been on about three different podcasts and I made it made up a bit, but.

I thought it was Nigel McGinnis wrestling for the first time in fifteen years at Wembley on Saturday.

That did it.

Oh, there you go. I don't know any of those things things.

I just love this idea of like sheet like and Gallagher yeah, nodding along, going you're eight kid, Yeah, yeah, I'm going to talk to kid off.

He goes Scottish, now yeah, he's Scottish now yeah, so he is man, I love you loves.

Sounding like tim from saying.

I love that she's got otes back together? Does he get like a free couple of tickets that.

He maybe he didn't like their music, even said that to him, So she's when they walked in the.

Boo doesn't like a waste like that is, especially when you're that older.

That white Sheesus told not to say bag their music and not to bring up his brother, and the first two things he.

Brought up.

I hate your music and his first name was.

How's your brother? So that's a very funny story. That's that's an astronion.

I like that he's not an Oasist fan, but he probably loves Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

He's just just really really like.

Noel solo stuff. Anyway, there you go. That's all the news you need right now. Let us take a look. We don't want to say the word losers. Oh they are, but I mean your team is definitely I know, these are the ten teams that did not make the twenty twenty four AFL finals, So.

The ten teams that failed in their duty to their fans.

Exactly, the ten teams that missed out in the finals this year. What are the things they need to do to fix themselves for next year to be on the right path to improve on twenty twenty four.

We are the right people to judge that, absolutely as clearly partial.

Brains trust and we are not colored by any sorts of bias. But what we will do, we'll go through each of these ten teams, right, the ten teams that missed the finals outside the eight, so nine through eighteen. And we'll also look at that over under that we had at the start of this season. Great results, some of these are shocking.

That's one of it. That's the part of it.

Let's start. Should we start at bottom of the top? Top, top down, top down? Or fixed Collingwood first? Yep, let's fixing right. Last year's Premiers twenty twenty three champions, Darcy Moore up there holding up the cup. I find dad feeling great, and then it all booned down to the green. The hangover was real and the one I had after the Mensingers. Yeah, that was a rough one. The over under prior to this season was fifteen and a half wins. Well that's zay one twelve games. They did not make the eight. I went over.

We all went over.

Went over. That boy went over.

I mean they won the flag.

We just sort of we should have taken the premiership hangover into a The thing is, I don't think we.

Considered all the injuries that would have throughout the year.

This is it that the series? Yeah, how do we fix the Pies? There are two massive, massive, massive things for the Pies. Health and the defense. Yep, that's all it is. It's forward, the forward line. I think their makeshift stuff worked last year, right, I mean then you look at it this year. Their defense wasn't good enough to let that makeshift forward. No, the defense get them over the line.

Darcy was formed, didn't help, like the.

Queen of Cliff and Nathan Murphy quite literally retired.

He's an abtoute beast.

So that's yeah, these are the things. So the two things to fix Collingwood for next year just get healthy and fire Brandon Maynard and his war crimes into the sun.

It's a lot of Brandon Maynard on this, so that's good.

Nice, but really find someone to place Nathan Murphy build that defense back. If they were the seventh worst this year, they were third best last year when they.

Were they were ninth on offense this year.

Ye see. I think that's the thing though, that you can they can win a flag with a middling sort offense that last year they did like they come from the clouds pies. You can only do that so long as we saw they did for a couple of years. It's like, doesn't matter what lead you have on them, they will absolutely come at you.

You get goals from the Daycai as well, like they're not obviously forwards, but you.

Get go He was missing a bunch of this year. My check was missing a bunch of this year, like keep Lizly obviously losing Nathan Murphy, like Cox in now of the team, not that you know Mason Cox makes a giant difference to that scene. But dark Evin had a great year. You had I think a midfielding group that just wasn't quite.

As good like Day Order as well.

The DAYCI Crisp solid fine, it just sort of sucked, right, So I don't know if you've got any other ideas to fix Collingwood get.

More kids, but they don't have any picks. They gave away their first round for lockey shorts. Yep, yeah, that's good call.

Maybe because they've only got a few good young guys after this sort of error one Joe Richards. Richards, Joe Richards, I think he'll be all right, but he's not enough young stars. You're right, they need to just get maybe have a look at that and maybe few trades.

For seal guys. He'll slowly coming.

So get healthy though next year running back one more time and I think you're laughing. Agree, you're healthy. So I think the Pires, out of all these teams here, I think it's Pires and Frio are like this close. It doesn't matter, agreed, speaking which the over under was nine and a half of the Fremantle Dockers, my beloved Fremantle Dockers, who came out and lost four straight games to finish off the season to catapult my beloved Blues into the finals. To be honest, the Blues have way more holes than I think Frio do. So Frio the over rider was nine and a half. There was not that much energy or excitement about them going into this season, though, to the point where I had them going way under. I looked at my ladder predictor. I think I had them second last.

I had them winning seven games. I think I had about seven or eight games botting out. Yep. So we stuffed that one up. Good start, blase, So.

They went over the nine and a half. We all went under. Great job, everybody. Two things to fix freoh. My first one was quite simply just kick it to Tracy Moore.

Well, yeah, the fact that they used him so well, especially second half of the year was awesome.

Keep him healthy. Keep him healthy as well.

I think the combination of Tracy and Giant Miss is awesome.

That's fun.

I think their midfield is fantastic. Their defense was literally the top ranked defense for most of this season. Why didn't it work?

Alex Peters broke his arm twice?

Yeah, But also the like was it Eliza Riley's article that we keep touching on their last quarters? They would have three awesome quarters and the last kind of oh we forgot to play but.

In the last four games, like, you didn't have Sean Darcy, you didn't have Tracy, you have Alex Piers there's like three big pillars as well, so non ideal. I also think they need another small thought, which because Schultz has gone obviously, yeah, there's potentially one coming in the form of Shade Bolt. And if he turns up exactly so.

They are in a right spot. I also get that five out of that midfield. If his name was Lee McCallan, he'd be gone straight into the sun.

That is the most random thing you've ever know. What I'm saying is because now when I'm brownlow Brown Medalist can't kick. He's lost his speed gone.

I don't retire him because he's still got trade. You could you could trade, I reckon you could trade not that much, but it's better than so you said he's got trade value and not much.

As in like that's he just wants him on North Melbourne.

No, I don't want him at all, but I'm saying that a team would take him for something. If you're retire him, you get nothing like we're giving you pick ninety.

It is more genuinely.

You put Nat Fife on Facebook marketplace, that's different thirty five bucks.

You've got to pick it up, You've got to send a try.

He just put him out on the out on the front lawn and just hope that someone takes him.

I agree that they don't need him though there if it's too good. He just ruins that sort of closing down closing down as well.

I think you put him in the forward pocket and just they did that. Yeah, then that five thing is a bit weird.

Yep.

Anyway, yeah, Frio, I still think though that defense was that good at times this year.

Their team on paper is a finals team, but they just need to finish.

Top four until like well three weeks out from the end of the season. So anyway, tough on Frio. They are very close. However, how do we fix a problem like the bomby?

That's impossible? Well, it started no more Shedes, no more Dodo.

Amazingly, they're over under was eleven and a half. They pushed because they had draw I forgot.

About the drawer.

Yeah, eleven and a half wins.

What happens in Yeah the betting with that one.

Amazing We'll always get our money back because we just all went under under under.

Yeah, so I'm climbing that one.

That's a win. They didn't make finals us yea now es, and then how do we fix it. Get Christian Petrca. It's a weird one that his name has definitely not come up at all with the Bombers big crowds, and I'm like this, it feels like, you know, his childhood mates with Ben Simmons, Ben Simmons, big Bombers fan. I'm just putting things together here. I'm just going absolute Charlie Day on the board. Off we go. But Petraca, like, the biggest thing with the Bombers is that they had the most disposals per game in the comp.

That is wild. Get a good forward.

Line, just get kick it like they're inside fifties. Absolutely, line suck inside fifties was shocking. Their disposals of disposal efficiency wasn't that great as well, and you just have like all these sort of weird and wonky stats around. Well.

They also got destroyed on transition.

Anytime they turn the ball over, other teams would steam roll them and they're just like, oh, it's happened again. So their midfielders don't work hard enough there. The Fords definitely don't work hard enough. They've got the highest paid player in the league who can't.

So that's exactly what my second point is get too hard on those defenders that could beat up everybody else one prove me wrong. They literally need, like what string is running rough shot over this team and everyone's just afraid of him because he's bigger than that. But what defenders are available to come? That's exactly the problem. They just need to be honest. We gave him, like we trashed him all year. But Nick Hin the Bricklayer, just has like absolute vibes of just like accountability. If you screw up, I'm gonna fight.

Yeah.

They have absolutely do that because they've just got like a bunch of like willowy young dudes who just don't have that grunt Like even ZERI like, God bless, he's cotton socks. He's a hard worker. But no one's afraid of Zach Merritt.

No, they don't have any of those big guys like like you said, Christian Buttruka, people are afraid to stand. That's cute Ford, I think will be okay. They've got Nakeddy, they've got Stringer. He actually had a lot of goals this year. They've all done.

Because it was a contract year. Stats. I'm just saying I don't think they've all done too bad.

They just feel like it's been really good cold well, Nick Martin Ridley inco like there's a lot of talent, but at the same time it's also just like no one's.

But there's also a bunch of people that are going to leave that can't get a game at the moment. So someone like Hobbs might leave, sadest might leave. It's like, oh, yeah, this is great, You're still going to be in the same spot next.

So as a pointed out though, the first thing so the petrarca and the most disposals per game. They are still, however, bad at contested possessions and clearances.

Again not tough.

Petruka might fix that.

One other one was maybe don't trade away all Australian type wingers players.

Yeah, well, in fairness, this time last year no one thought massive O lot of people thought he was but this also but this also goes to the point is they're not playing the younger players that have all this talent in the world.

Agreed, nice, we just fixed Estonia. Here's a basket case. We beat the Blues, enjoyed twelve idiots, Saints over and was eleven and a half. They made final. Last year they finished well, this season the result was under because they won eleven games. We went over.

They made the finals and all they had to do is not they didn't even have to make the finals with that matter wins and they still we.

Were just like, oh, yeah, they'll win twelve games and we'll be like sure.

So there's two easy things to fix and killed. I think one convinced Max Kinds, which places with Ben King, and then just play the footy we saw in the second half of the season.

I think they will Ken Ross, can Ross commit to get out of the mud?

Just get out of the mud. You were like, this is how we're going to play. This isn't working. This is how we're going to play. It's not working. This is maybe we should change. It's like you figured it out, brain genius.

But I think it's also a lot of players did come back from injury at some point because late in the season you had wangon and Malia running, had Brad Hill running. He shouldn't have Aleam Henry there late in the season when he comes back and he's going to add more run. Cooper Sharman turned into the prime Nick Rewatt at times.

I agree with that, but the many guys that can just run.

He got Sincleaar and Wangon Miller who any team would go, I will take him half back.

They are absolute freaks.

And then you got Ross going, no, we're just gonna really congested to not use a Gross, whereas in twenty twenty three when we're like, this is a fun saying that a couple of Games of the g to help him get into the finals, that they were awesome. They just run, run, run, play really fast attacking. Could he Ross just has to get out of his old way?

Do you trust ross? Lyon though?

To go?

They started next year? You go, hey, what worked at the second half of last year? We're going to set that?

So how good were they? Charleston? I think that will I reckon? I don't know if they will because you stubborn. No, I reckon? He Cavy's burken stocks on.

He'll just go yep, that'll work.

Was he?

What was he?

What was that? What's that?

Is that? Medical? Speaking of Dimmer up at the Cold Ghost above the twenty eighth parallel, the over runer was eleven and a half. They won eleven games. Did this you're a.

Truther at the stame? IM off them so often stats.

Boy and I went under Alex and over how to fix the Suns very easily, change the logo, very easy. Fix the Suns by just going, we're playing. Can we play every game at home.

Up north, every at least above the twentieth gab.

Just play of the gab, play more games of the Gabba, play a bunch of games in like the NZ and we'll smash it.

Just pay you, like the far heaps of money and get the Northern Territory government to give the AFL money. I mean, yeah, more games up there.

But also I think the biggest thing for the Suns is you need at least a bit of a You've got dimmer there. You need a philosophical and quite literal changing of the guard yep, change your logo, change your uniforms, put your gym in charge, and.

Then you trumpet forget about all these crappy years.

Like I think this year was actually their most ever wins, which is sad because it was only eleven.

But they still finish what they finished thirte so they wins, beat North Melbourne and West Coast, they make the finals. It's so crazy.

Also, just kick the ball to Jed Water, my beloved beloved.

Put that in. They give a bit of confidence to the to the legend.

But seriously, this son's got that much talent on this list.

They've got more academy kids coming through.

The defensive of them need to be more accountable and better. Just win away one more mid just win away quietly. So the joke one about like play all the games at home, just learn how to win away from home.

It's not hard.

What are we doing here? How do we fix the Melbourne Demons? The over under was thirteen and a half. They won eleven games. I went over on Melbourn. Look, alex is down, down, speaking, down, voting Melbourne all year and he was right.

Collected some dollary dudes at six bucks to miss the finals.

So how do we fix Melbourne? Somehow convinced Petraka to stay.

That's a big thing.

Do you get the biggest trade hall you possibly can for him? Rebuilt?

Don't think there's anything that can fix this club in one year. I think that on the way to a big tailspin. They are at the point where Richmond were and they don't realize it. I agree, And it's like, oh no, because if May and Leaver keep getting injured like they did this season. Same with Max. They've got no backup for him. Clarie, who knows where his head's at Petrarca leaves. They will dead set win seven. Clari's out of form. They don't looks I mean, if it looks cooked, they still can't kick a score.

This to Trent Rivers. You've got Jack Vining. It's going to be fine.

We said this time last year. It's like get a forward.

Yeah, I think we've actually said this in our last season. Rap just they just said a recruit a power forward and they still haven't done that. They've got key pillars everywhere else.

There's going to be some stupid Mega sixteen trade that involves a King brother ending up at Melbourne forward.

Max has washed almost already.

But Barry mcguy because the Blues are like, we've got Ashton Moyer now we'll laughing. I love you, Harry.

I think I think they need another decent inside midfield. They made to back up Ruckman for Max because as we saw during the year, like ah, anyone not cashing in on Petty last year to first rounders, that's going to be one of the guess missus.

Ever and they just need to power forward. That's literally what they need.

That's it. You fixed them done, Adelaide. How do you fix a problem like crazy? Twelve and a half they won eight games. Stats Boy Stat's Boy was all over it. It was his lock of the year.

What are you doing? They look so good at their.

Best, alexman over. I was the only one who understood what was going to happen with Adelaide, and I looked into Matthew Nix's eyes. There's an afraid man. Man who's afraid a joker. You fix it so simply for me. Just have any sort of defensive plan or accountability.

Which start the season they had, I think they were top six defense and then yeah, after that they.

Just cooked it.

It was weird. I feel like Adelaide when they're up and about they are they play inexorable.

Football, very fun.

Also, yeah, the problem is how do they get there? And it just seems like it can be very very hard when they're at home. Sometimes it's almost like Fato complete that it will be good. Outside of that though, you just need that spark and they don't have the spark they.

Do just you got the Dutch.

Leadership games, the leadership spark from the Transformers movie from nineteen eighty six. That's what they need, the matrix of leadership. They have no leadership. That's exactly where it is. They need the matrix of leadership. They need the You got the Diutch bounce so.

Ran can play rank and played fifteen games this year. Oh that's more than I thought. To be fair, Sure it's not too bad.

Jordan Dawson good, very good.

Rice Shelley good thriller, his best this year thriller will win a common.

It's like the likes of what Hinge shoalgo like. It's like they have this sort of baseline level talent.

That drops off after that though.

It's the two way stuff that breaks your heart. It's like they're just even an even worse version of Carlton defensively in the midst So fix that off we go. Uh. And the other point is get someone else with the X factor of the complain mid slash half back.

I don't mind that, Yeah, yeah, could.

Get rid of They'll get Alex Neil Bullen.

Yeah exactly, he's going to help maybe lococious.

Don't mind that. I don't like his hair, but I like him. Wow, West Coast, how do you? Jared Schofield. Get Jared Schofield out of there because he's got too many. Can't be a coach with tattoos. I did love that. Someone pointed out, well, if Caroline Wilson said that about a woman, I can't be a coach you.

Got tattoos, You're gone mate.

It's oh yeah, that's a problem. Jared Schofield. He's just like, nah, I'm good. He might still get the job.

It's because no one else wants it, is it? You get the job because you're the only applicant.

Well, the two greatest words in the English language. The over run was four and a half. They went over because they won five. We all went under the job, everybody, how do we get because they beat Melbourne and make Carlie Reid captain coach.

I put that on there. I was like, what why not? Why?

Why not? Whoa badlim? He's a captain coach? Bad lamb you take the prim was gone thanks to the apprenticeship.

But he can be co captain with our beloved Oscar Al They do like.

Australian two plus goals is his full name.

He's nodding along, yeah, yeah he is.

I do love a bit of Oscar Allen obviously, and I just feel like they're losing Tom Brass. That's brutal. This is still another two years in the.

Wilder, and this is four years in the wildern.

There's enough sort of pipeline stuff then in a couple of years there'll be decent ish But wow.

Get picks in. Don't trade your picks for Baker, for.

Rioli, for the other guy from Richmond that wants to leave his name of completely basic Bolton whatever, thank you. Don't trade picks. You need kids, not dudes who are just okay. Get the kids in. Yep, agreed, because last year you had one pick in the top thirty, number one.

And that yeah, like you got harghy Read Obviously he's a beast, what a pick, great pick. Another two or three kids would have helped.

A lot of the young guys aren't that good either, so that's yeah, other than maybe Jimmy, he's okay, he's.

Good in the backline. But yeah, they just need to get kids in.

Yep, nice one, get kids in. Kick the ball to the j train, we agreed. North Melbourne, how do we fix the problem like the Kangaroo Stads boy Fire Clarko under the sun the over runner was five and a half, a very very mystic over.

Because North Melbourne had just beaten Collingwood in the preseason, stats guy was confident in northboard.

Way. I said, off, you did. I watched the rec The amount of positivity dropped off. I reckon after about round five. I've been so negative. I was so positive at the start of the season. What the hell's gone on? Then?

My favorite thing is that Alex and I both went under mine was a lot.

Yeah, honestly, fair.

Nailed it and Stat's boy was all over.

I said, over there, how do.

You fix North Melbourne? Recruit some tall players? That's what I've said, recruits the tall players. Every single draft are like, what's the smallest player in this draft? Brady Rollings goes how tall.

Is he is?

He is he over one eighty No, we don't want him under one hundred and eighty two centimeters, thank you very much.

That's what That's what he always picks. The other one, ha just practice a proper game plan a ball.

Before the season, they said we're going to play what was it, Clarco ball and North Ball North Ball Gyman Clcko ball.

We were like, all right, this is going to be exciting. We're actually going to take on the game.

Then the second half of the season we're like, we're just going to bomb it down the line every time, back to the old ways of the last five years. So I can't stand that. Actually practice the game plan and use it in the game.

It's all players to be handed. You got Curtis Zerha and Suber and that forward line, and it's like you can see at least the outline of how it could kind of work.

Common can go forward.

They need like one more dude than you need.

You need, well, we need more, even more of a back. When Grifford log went down, he's actually really like him. But then we had no backs, we had no tall backs. And then if we get another back, we can put Common forward and everything's happy.

So you think you picked too.

I was about to say two more tool dudes, and they still we'll pick another Midford which we don't.

And yeah, sick, pick pick Langford. Take Langford, run him off half back.

He rules.

Finally, how do you fix the tiger.

Yellow and black? Ah, the Cliff got this one right.

Amazingly enough. The over rund was nine and a half. We all went under because they won two games locked it now coming, how do we fix it? I My first thing was burn.

It to the group, burnt road to the girl.

You just like, you can't turn this around in a season or two. This is just draft draft, draft, drifting draft as much as the game before Taszzy comes in again as much young talented.

They look like they've realized it before. West Coast having like picks all their players want to leave, give us all of the picks.

North had the medium before the start of the season was North and would have the mass exit this Richmond the massous.

But it's great because they're going to have what with when you have Bolton, really Baker, potentially a few others.

Maybe you get rid of Tom Lynch and go, hey, I'm saying a second, that might be how you fix Melbourne. You go get some Lynch.

But is it also where where Richmond go. We will cover eighty percent, but we want your first round of next year or your second round. Like I know, everyone's oh Tom Lynch is so, but if you're picking up the tab, they'll be like, oh, we we only have to give him one hundred grand. Yeah, that's not bad because he's on a ridiculous amount next year. I would be pushing out Tom Lynch because you've got at Lafou. He will come back from his knee injury.

Yeah, be because this is horrible. Yeah, but you're gonna have to deal with that next You're gonna have to deal with that for the next couple of years.

Anyway, But I would try and push some other players out. I'd be like, anyone want cam to McIntosh pick forty anyone?

Ah, Okay, We'll stuck with it. I would honestly offer up Noah Bolter as well.

Tom Lynch is thirty one.

I would I would offer up to and I'd be like.

We will cover his salary for however long's left on his contract and try and get a second rounder.

It's remarkable he's thirty one.

I know, I thought he was younger. They don't mind that, So you want it. You want them. Richmond need to have ten to twelve picks in the first two rounds in the next two years. Yeah, otherwise they're cooked.

Yeah, I agree, And this to.

His draft looks pretty good. Yeah.

This is basically just different ways of saying burn into the ground, start again.

You'll I have more faith in Richmond turning around before West Coast Melbourne and North Melbourne.

All right, out of those ten teams that we've just talked about, and then we've just fixed who plays finals next year, because there's always somebody who there's usually two teams at least that.

Actually came true that someone outside the top ten will go into the top four.

I think it was long this year they've gone back into.

The top four.

Yeah, yeah, there you go.

So who does it? I reckon it's probably Freeoo.

I'll go Pies. I think they've got a good enough team to go back up there. Again.

The thing is with the Pies, you can also see what happened this year happening just again. Yeah, or resort to lose a talk unless they get the truck.

Their teams still really good. They don't have They just don't have the picks or the capitol.

We all know that. They don't know that though, I'm telling you don't know what you don't know.

I love how they're fans like John Noble's worth the first round there it's like.

Late first, we'll get it done.

The second pick is pick thirty seven.

Nice. All right, there you go. Those are the ten teams and did not make the finals. Fans out there of those teams, you know, just burn your stage, feel good about this off season, kick some tiles on some trades.

I'll be doing.

Just keep listening to the AFL today shows. We keep you updated on your team's progress in the off season. It's going to be a chaotic one either way, right, But before the offseason starts, what happens, gentlemen, bit the finals? Yeah, the actual foot of the matter is.

Usually when you say that you can keep going.

But we're looked back. We're now looking a little bit forward. This is the first week, first look of round one of the AFL Finals. This is of course brought to you by top Sport, the home of footy finals. Get excited, I'm excited. What were you going to talk about? Very quickly, so, with another week to go before these games obviously start, this is just a very quick look at this matchup between each of the two teams in these four games, have look at an interesting historical matchup. We'll set you up for next weekend. We're just a bit of a This is where the odds are at the moment. This is what it looks like. This is how it's shaping up, and the stats boys got a couple of stats. Always all odds are brought to you by our friends at top Sport. Of course, let's start, of course next Thursday, because you know what's.

Back Thursday night, finally night.

I'm excited. Port Adelaide will be hosting the Gelong Cats at the Adelaide Oval seven to forty on Thursday night. Port Adelaide a dollar forty nine favorites to Geelong two dollars sixty. How do we feel about that?

I think that's almost bang on.

I think Power eleven and a half point favorites.

Yeah, Port at home are just a much better side. If it was a Gelong, they'd be favorites. Whoever was home here would be favorite.

Right the over runder was one hundred and sixty four and a half. I feel like the over is the look there with a couple of I don't know, the Thursday night games. If you think back, like when we saw Power play at absolutely Flying and a couple of the other games that they've had this year, they've put up some massive.

Scored Geelong had the game of the weekend and it was really high scoring as well at gather Around.

And also Port Adelaide just went and smashed Sydney at home a couple of rounds ago.

Don't know what. The Swans didn't score enough?

Yeah, actually one sixty four point five. My instant initial lean is over that.

Gym finals pressure mate, the first finals game.

Yeah.

Now, but in terms of the stats, i'd be I think.

We always say finals pressure and then it's just like a randomly free flowing, amazingly high maybe early on.

But like pre limbs and after definitely finalt pressure. Yeah, I think once you get past the first couple of seybe Yeah.

If we look at the twenty twenty three AFL Finals and how they went in the first round, we.

Had Sydney and Carlton was definitely Under.

Sydney, Carlton was seventy four to sixty eight.

Yeah.

Under Collingwood, Melbourne was sick. That's Melbourne Collingwood one O one seventy seven. The game that we went to at the g and Risbond was one twenty three seventy five overpower.

So but you also look at yeah, you look at the teams as well. Where Giants had the tsunami going it was unstoppable and Brisbane were just always going to stomp up.

They always score a big especially in the finals las year they were, right, historical matchup, here we go, what do we got here?

Stats man? Two thousand and seven? Cast your mind back? I actually remember two thousand and seven. You probably don't Round twenty one?

Do I do?

Sure?

I remember this game?

What happened in two thousand and seven? Oh? I got rattle off everything.

I was in school. Probably I don't know. I've got no idea, to be honest, give us this matchup? Then?

Sure, I thought you were going to say it. So round twenty one, thousand and seven. This is obviously the year that Geelong went on to win the Grand Final and absolutely smashed them and got revenge against Port.

But Port won this game.

So it's an important point, right because this these historical matchups are just interesting games. Next week we're going to look at actual finals matchups. Do I look at that one for It's going to be a tough one because they were two thousand and seven. Did they just say two thousand and seven they're just getting PTSD, Port Adelaide trauma and no where we go? So this one is from round twenty one. That's a positive same year, positive one that it got then very bad a little bit later.

Yeah, yeah, this is a positive one for Port.

So Geelong one oh one Port one hundred and six, classic match golf for golf. For most of the second half, the forgotten Ablett Nathan Ablett got three goals. I was pretty random ized how to look at that prime Sean Berger and Silk was awesome.

Twenty two disposals, three goals.

This was also the Powers only win against Geelong between two thousand and five and.

Twenty fourteen, so they were fourteen losses one win.

And so I've just found out I did the Power win any games around this time. One one game between two thousand and five and twenty fourteen. A three finals in there, obviously a Grand final but Port fans rapping about, say we're going to win the flag. And then obviously Geelong got their revenge in the Grand final. But this was an awesome match. Sean Bergan was amazing. I think steviej had three goals as well. Just both teams had absolute superstars and classic match in thousand and seven.

This is an interest. It is like a it's an evocative kit matchup because they have played a bunch of finals and like some big matchups, so it's kind of fun. So in terms of each of these teams, put out Load obviously finished second, Kay's slide into third with the GWS loss on the weekend. YEP, Port Adelaide were eight on offense this year, third in defense, which is like, when you think about the way that they played, a little bit of a surprise that there were third defensively, what do you think that's man?

Uh No, that they've got some big guys down there. I don't mind it.

They've got a lot of guys that run off half back and you go, oh, they don't defend, but they're big guys.

Are the ones that, yeah, hold hold them strong. I think I like to I like their difference.

Nice one Alex.

Doesn't really shock me because I've always had concerns about their forward line throughout the year. Like georgi Ardes was in and out, Dixon in and out, Marshall in and out. Rioli's form has just gone like this sore season and you've relied on a couple of gals here and there from Butters and Rosie and the Hornet pops up with one or two. Whereas their defense, you're just like, ah, if you bombit long, you screw and they just take Mark by Yeah, and then it leaves just like grab bang. But I am worried now that with their defense, now that there's no Houston and the bloke that ripped his hamstring off the buron the other day he's not playing, so their runoff half back is a lot of concern. Was a Farrell that went down? Yeah, it might have been. Actually, yes, I think you're right.

Yep, nice one flip side. Geelong random enough third on offense.

Yeah, but they kicked two hundred points in the last game. Doesn't count.

Ninety four point one point. I'm pretty sure the average is out though, even with like that big score against West Coast. Yeah, eleventh.

Kane Farrell did do his hamstring and he's out for the season, so a lot of their runoff halfback is gone.

Right, eighty three point eight points per game. They surrendered to the Cat's finishing fifteen and eight after where they were mid season. A bit of a surprise, pretty fun.

They bounce back so well, that was that was incredible. I called their season dead and beard when gelongs beaten by seventy.

And you're always right, so this is weird. So that's the sort of matchup. Right, You've got a decent defense in Port, a decent offense in Geelong. It's the unstoppable object versus the immovable object that can be fun. I like that it will be fun, so shoot. That's what sort of leads me to going all right. Defensively, Port Adelaide are meant to be good, but I feel like some of the like pace with which they pay play like they would just get into random shootouts kind of fun.

This game will be one in the midfield, yeah, I agree, especially Geelong's midfield compared to PORTSMOTHFORLD you'd say Port are going to smash him in the clearances.

Yeah right, Well, thinking into this more deeply next week. But some stats stats man.

Yeah, we've got Geelong.

They're actually really good Adelaide Oval in the last four seasons four and one. There there's a few games against Adelaide in there, but they've just played really well out that side of town Port Adelaide. They've won the last two finals against the Cats at the Adelaide Oval. One was by forty three points and the other one was by sixteen points, and there's an average of thirty points.

They just love playing the Cats in a final the alaid Oval Port as well.

They've covered the line in the last three meetings with Geelong, so that line is minus eleven and a half and a dollar eighty eight with Top Sports.

So I don't mind that one as a sneaky snicky.

Bit for stats boys' best bet.

Yeah, I really like that.

I know the line is a little bit bigger than some other matches this weekend, but sorry next weekend, but eleven and a half.

I think Port can cover the one.

Nice one Alex eleven and a half.

I'll ended you along well ended along with a start tight game. Port Adelaide have just bounced out of finals in ridiculous fashion the last this week. You bump time for Ken and the boys. They love a straight, straight straight to textit down there?

Okay plus eleven fore yeah plus a well plus eleven and a half.

Yep.

Interesting, Well about final picks next week? Nice Friday's elimination final should be on the Saturday A Bulldogs a dollars seventy four to three and a half point favorites over the Hawks who are two dollars and five cents.

Just where I just say the AFL has moved the AFL w game to the MCG really. Yeah, interesting what they before the game I had? That is awesome. No, it's not.

Think about all the people that actually plan to go to the AFL W that have now missed out on tickets because it's the sellout.

There's still going to be four more games that with NOV. I really like that. You get the games, more.

Games that with NOVA anyway, I like that so horrendous. It's a horrendous own goal from the AFL. Who would have seen that coming over? Unders one hundred and sixty six point five is flying over? Oh, this football is going to be absolutely pinging around.

I've got some stats that go against that.

Yeah, well, before you do that, ninety four point four points per game. That's the worst of Bulldogs, the second best offense this year yep, and the best defense.

To be fair, judo.

Best just didn't show up their offense on the weekend. That helped them jump I think two spots. But amazing deferencely.

Hawthorn's sixth offense at ninety point nine points per game, six on defense very middle.

Of very help by keeping North Melbourne to thirty point.

Last we're talking on the number one and number six ranked defenses five of the last seven meetings between these two, I've also gone under the total points time leading towards the under one sixty six and a half.

Names being played.

Yeah one of those yeah, and a few of those were at the g as well though.

Yeah, nice one. All right. What are the sort of key aspects that you're looking at for this camera?

I'm looking at so the dogs that want to keep keep the footy in the air using their tool forward, like you have a look, they've got three forwards over two hundred centimeters. Hawthorne's tallest defender, I believe, is one ninety two leo. Please not if you know this may be a bit hatter. It's a little bit, yeah, but it's like there's a massive herd advantage that the Western Bulldogs have over Hawthorne.

Hawthorne bring it to the ground and we will just mischivo and the footy will just fly out to the wings and that's where they'll beat them. If Hawthorne will win this game, it's they're scoring eighty points in transition from defense, whereas if it's clear if it's really clearance and contested footy, this is where bonds like watch this.

Nice. So the last time these two teams actually played at the MCG was twenty nineteen in round two, which is pretty crazy. And so when you talk about the Unders, the stats boy that has been tazzy Marvel, Tazzy Marvel, Tazzy Marble.

I'm meant to say marvels.

Yeah, a little bit, a little bit true the g aspect of it, I think we especially with the last game that these two teams played back in round eighth this year was ninety eight to ninety one. Yeah, so I feel like the over over Yeah, that's fair enough. Feeling pretty good about it too. So we'll see what happens there and the other stats their stats.

Man talking about.

And they've matched up in the finals, one all in the finals since and eight Hawks mash smash the Dogs in their qualifying final. Obviously, the Dogs, I can talk about that in a historical matchup. They got their event in twenty sixteen, win that awesome final.

Anytime that they played, the team that won went on to win the flag.

Exactly, yeah, exactly right.

You heard here first. So whoever wins this game winning the flag? Yeah, possibly, it's just mass as simple as that. Nice one.

Nice Do you want to talk about the historical match up.

Yeah, let's do it. Yeah.

So twenty sixteen semi final, this is the awesome Dogs run. Obviously they went on to win the flag Bulldogs one hundred and seven Hawks eighty four. Dogs won by that by twenty three you got Dogs ended the Hawks chances at four Peter run. I was like, oh, the Hawks are unstopable. They could win the four feet Obviously Dogs ended that. Picking his finals mode, I was engaged twenty four disposals, three goals. His whole finals run was just one of the best of all time. I reckon Hodgy as well as just known as one of the best Finals players of all time.

Friend of the program, end of the program.

Yeah, twenty disposals and two goals. Dogs just dominated Bevo. I've read some old articles going he's one of the great master minds of our generation and then we've been bagging him ever since. But yeah, just an awesome effort by the Dogs. And that's a really good historical matchup.

Nice one. So your vibe on this for the stats boy, your best bet for this game on a week out.

I'm going under, just because the Dogs. What do they keep gs two?

Last week? I know it was tough.

Conditions, but JS we're in really good offensive form. It was like forty something points the GWS scorts. I'm going the under. I think, yeah, the tolls will go really well for the Dogs. But Hawks, I don't know. I just think he's going to go under.

I'm still going to go over. Look at that's right over the line at three and a half. I'm kind of a fourth for this anyway.

I'd be leading, yeah, towards Horse. That's a horse Hawks. I just said Horse.

The Hawks playing an away game at home against the team that's played there twice this year, twice this year, six last three year, and I think that those.

Games were before like the start of June.

Saturday. Next week qualified final number one Sydney GWS at the SCG as usual, all these odds via Top Sport dollars sixty two. This ones at the moment seven and a half point favorites over GWS to two dollars twenty five. It feels about right. Seven and a half. GWS has been pretty good. Yeah, someone's at home Battle of the Bridge. It's a big Sydney debby and the over unders one seventy two point five.

I can't wait to get there, sure three twenty pa your goal.

I'm going up and back. Yeah, up and back in the day. So that's a brutally long day, especially if this one's lose. But no, it's I'm pumped, all right.

A historical matchup? What are we looking at here?

Yeah, we've got the round five twenty twenty one.

Bit of a random one, but yeah, Alex won want to talk about this, but it was an awesome match. Sydney sixty nine GWS seventy one. The Giants won by two points at the seg absolute nail bider.

You've got.

Josh Kelly had the sealer the match, absolutely clutch goal by him, the winner, the winner you could say, extremely inaccurate by the Giants. Toby led that he kicked one goal seven Toby Green.

He did kick. He was tearing his hair and he wasn't happy at all. Very rare for him.

But he kicked a clutch goal in the last quarter. That was his only goal, which is pretty funny. Buddy as well. Buddy was amazing, Alex. Remember that five goals, four goal assists and five contested mark.

It was one of those ye on my back.

Boy, But he's like doing everything and then he's like, oh, can someone else just jump on board with me? And then they lost in the end. But two point game one of the best Battle of the Bridges twenty.

Twenty one year. It was some stats for this one stats man, the Battle of the Bridge. Yes, Sydney have won five of the last six.

And lost the other one in the last five seconds.

Wow, but gws. Yeah Finals however.

Yeah, so you got jeneresisent finals three and zero against Sydney. They're like, yep, well you just dominate twenty sixteen, twenty eight and twenty twenty.

The Sydney's bogey too, So yeah. Twenty sixteen was at Stadium Australia. The Giants were just better in the second half. The Swans were busmal. They're twenty eighteen. Aside from that Port Adelaide game a month ago. That was the worst Sydney Swans performance I've ever seen in twenty twenty one. The Swan's had about a thousand chances in the last quarter to win. It kept hitting the post and kept missing. It was in tazzy, weird stuff. I was headbutting the TV.

But the Swans this year have belted the Giants both times and then in the last three weeks with the Swans, the way their forms turned around, it's like, oh yeah, they've they've turned it around at the right time. Like, I'm pretty confident this one to get the job done here.

That's what Sydney obviously the best offense in the league ninety seven point five points a game, seventh defensively six point nine yep four. The do do wis greater Western Sydney Giants. It is a big, big sound. It is a big, big sound. But they're only seventh on offense.

Yeah, I think that's that middle part of the season.

If you take out what was it, six weeks the start of the season, they were the first about Wake. They kicked thirty points against the last week. Yeah, last week they were pretty average against the Dog.

So ninth defensively as well.

Yeah, Yeah, I'm leaning towards the over in this one.

You got last four meetings have gone well over against these two, and you've got obviously Sydney's firing offense Giants. I think they've got so many good fours that are going to fire off the finals. So I'm going over that one. Seventy two and a half dollars eighty seven with.

The top Sport nice one stats boy. Finally I'll be there for this one. I'll be in the house. Yeah, with the look at this.

Real supporters go to finals of their teams into state. I haven't actually been by fake fan, not this year. See Leo to be at the mcg real fan. I'm actually going to that game. But even Gerald, he's a Western Bulldogs fan, he's going to be there. I doubt it.

Yeah, I like that is social boy. Leo going to put you, like in one of those baby bawns and take you.

To Yeah, yeah, I like that.

I'll be taking the squid to this one. Brisbane a dollar twenty eight favorites. Oh god, why am I going? Your wife's like, se well, she's still stuck with the squid number two. She's like, hey, thanks a lot idiots. You said it's okay. Carlton of three dollars fifty five. The line is four goals twenty three and a half points or by top Sport, of course, the over runner one sixty six point five. The way that Carlton played defense, Brisbane could hit that by themselves. I would be flying over this one. The at the gap of seven forty pm on the Saturday night.

It was the right slot for the Gabba game.

Kasha mine back to the start of this year. Carlton did win it game against the Lines by one point forty six point exactly deficit turned around. That was round zero. I was halfway to lawn in the car listening to that one on the radio. Crazy is kicking the them radio owners. They're getting smashed. Got to the house, turned on the TVs or we're back bullsh let's go. What do I come back? It was sick. I think that was the start of the Flaggers videos that I chucked up that night too. It's pretty good. Unfortunately, since then, Carlton's fortunes have taken a turn here and there. It's gonna be a weird matchup. I'm not feeling wildly confident. I do like the over, probably like the Lines at the line as well. But yeah, give us a historical matchup.

Start storical mat You can probably go through a little bit this as while you wrote this one Round twelve, twenty nineteen, I'm taking you back to that one. Carlton's seventy eight Brisbane sixty three. The Blues win by fifteen. There, Kripper probably one of his best games of his whole career. Thirty eight disposes four goals. Jim would have been, you've been chewing your lungs out that game. Sealed the game with the last goal as well. He just did everything for the Blues. He's like, as you said about Buddy before, I like, he just put him put the Blues on.

Crips has done that for the last five years.

But that game is just nuts. Thirty out of spose four goals you had. Locky Neil was really good. Damn exed a couple of goals just pressure field. I saw a couple of the highest tackling galore just like. It wasn't the most free flowing game as a lot of Carlton games are, but it was just an awesome fun match up.

It was. I was there with my old man and it was like one of the sort of first games that i'd been having just moved back at the end of eighteen, that's right, so this was one of the very few like we had. The membership went to the game. It was awesome at a great time, sitting on the first level at the Old Marvel at a great time and you're just like watching Crips going oh, he's done really ever, so that was really fun. It was a surprise win because Brisbane were okay, I think that year Carlton were not that great and it had not been that great. Sounds right, So that was really fun and hopefully that happens again on Saturday. So Carlton of fourth in points per game this season, fourth, which is pretty crazy considering the drop off they had at the back end of the season. Fourteenth on defense, which explains the drop off at the back end of the season. The Lions fifth offense ninety two points six points a game, which checks out, and second defensively, which is pretty massive.

I thought big for the finals. Yeah, huge, h tute.

So Brisbane smash them. It would not surprise me that we're flowing.

We have we have one. There's usually one blowout and this is it.

So we will go into historical matchups again next week. But obviously this was a premium last year where amazing out to like a six goal lead, even hold it in Calton sort of you know, you snucker out and it was all over and you're like, this just sucks. But you could almost taste the ground final right there. For Brisbane's last few games right, So they gave up sixty seven points to Essendon. Yep, they lose that Collingwood game in that stupid fashion of the g give up only seventy nine points lose to gbre were sixty four to eighty two.

That's because they kicked like nine to twenty seven.

One million points. They smashed and Kilda four weeks ago and beat Gold Coast at people's first as well. I feel like they are they get to use Carls and as it get right warm into the finals game, don't they.

Yeah, this is I think if Brisbe wanted to face anyone, Yeah, they'd be like, all right, we can take take.

Literally any any team in the I won Carlton in the first week.

Yep, all banged up. They'll probably have like six inns from the game against and Kilda.

But like Cavern's trying to make the collation. Oh, the Western Bulldogs in twenty sixteen had all these inns. Yes, okay, those things do happen. But you've got Carlton blokes who are coming off like it's not like a one or two weaker. These are some long term injuries and consistent niggles throughout the season from a squad, which is shown they are more likely to reinjure themselves than if Sam Dockety comes back in It is one of the worst selections of the year. No offense to Doc, but he could just king something like that.

I think I made this point last week right, like it wasn't even like Carlton didn't suck because of the injuries. They were sucking before the injury, and then the injuries compounded the something at the end of the season. So I tend to think that the Blaker's.

Gonna put it.

My god, vices out there making citizens arrest. We're gonna win the flag. I didn't realize that the other one got away and they still looking for it.

Oh, really do it both? He's got two.

Parts, one under each arm. What are we doing it? Stats boy, give us some stats man.

I do yes.

Brisban of won added the last nine home matches against Carden, obviously opening around the Blues beat him at the start of the year. Brisbane Towo and Oho in the finals. Obviously been in last year twenty twenty three prelim. That was awesome game Brisbane. They won five to the last six meetings. And then I was going to lean towards some bets, maybe the line or something like that. I'm going to go the over one sixty six and a half dollars eighty seven the top sport.

That is a lock.

I think Brisbane at home and you've got two top five offenses Blues defense, what was it fourteenth Brisbane. They're going to score over one hundred points themselves, and I back the Blues to cover at least seventy points themselves.

Yeah, you're right.

Yeah.

You think about the lineups that they'll have for the Obviously for Brisbane you'll have Joey Ducket's hip would Charlie Cameron and Kyle Lohman, and you've got what Logan Evans No, Morris logang Morris. Yeah, there's a Logan has been awesome.

But that's the thing is maclage droves forward, kicks a guy the way.

That Carlton's defense has been looking lately, and even then before the injuries, look to mcgovernance aard. I don't think they're going to be able to stop the lines. Yeah Cook offense, So yeah, I love the over. Nice one. That is the first look. At the first week of the finals, we will be breaking that all down again next week. However, as we get closer, we'll have a bunch of awesome player props. We'll have like the AFL Today Show multi for each game as well that we like the most.
