While deployed in Afghanistan in 2013, Nick overcame an insider attack resulting in the loss of his leg. Refusing military retirement, he returned to combat, becoming the first above-the-knee amputee in active duty. Nick, a Special Forces Warrant Officer, is a recognized expert in special operations, intelligence fusion, and mission planning. Decorated with awards like the Silver Star and Purple Hearts, he's also a devoted husband and father.
