Should state lawmakers be able to overrule city leaders on health matters?

View descriptionShare

The Utah legislature started the 2022 session with two bills that were somewhat controversial - one that would undo the Salt Lake and Summit County health orders to require 30 day mask mandates, and one that would remove the authority of local governments to address the pandemic or health emergencies in general. KSL Newsradio's Amanda Dickson wanted to get some feedback from her guests on whether the legislature should be overruling local health departments and elected officials on these matters. Her guests this week include Jeanetta Williams, President of the Salt Lake Branch of the NAACP and NAACP Tri-State Conference of Idaho, Nevada and Utah, Linda Eyre, author speaker and columnist, and Molly Miller, founder of Miller Media and Communications.
