Matt Gittins is a composer/producer, lyricist, playwright, actor, and musician from Chardon, Ohio. He graduated from Otterbein University where he received his BFA in Musical Theater Performance in 2019. As a writer Matt has ghost written, produced beats for hip-hop records, wrote jingles and background music for the podcasts “Did You Find This Helpful?” and “The Mistletoe Secret” and wrote the music/co-wrote the lyrics for “Trey Plutnicki’s Fifteen Minute Comedy Hour”. He finished his first musical, YOU GO ON, as a senior in college. YOU GO ON will have a showcase performance this July with the CO Musical Festival in Denver. Pronouns: He/Him.

"The musical this song belongs to, YOU GO ON, follows a group of freshmen in high school as they try to move forward in the aftermath of a school shooting. The musical was written as my own response to having gone through a school shooting myself, and this song is the thesis statement of the show.

Thank you to my family, my friends, and my cast. This doesn't happen without you all. Special thank you to Ryan Brun, Payton Tevis, the cast of YOU GO ON, and Andrew Lippa for sticking with me. Please consider donating to places that provide relief to victims of gun violence."
