A Statement from Crissi:
"Everything” was written to be a mantra of gratitude, resilience, and self-validation, and a reminder to banish unhealthy thoughts. Several years into my career as a recording artist and performer, I suddenly developed anxiety about being on-stage. I felt the need to write a song that could ground me and create a safe space for my thoughts to go while performing, and also to help me banish the negativity that used to be fuel for my songwriting, but which had, over time, become toxic. This song appears on my 2020 album, Heirloom.
I feel that this recording is one of the most creative and climactic in my catalogue as a recording artist. I especially love the sound of rain that appears throughout, and the way the arrangement builds toward the end, wave upon wave of more, more, more. It feels cleansing and powerful. I also love how the instrumentation falls away in the first chorus, further underscoring the message, 'I don't need to feel everything'."
