For a growing number of people, side hustles have become a part of life, whether it’s monetising a passion project, content creation or anything in between. Finding a way to make money in addition to a full time salary is fast becoming the norm. But how do you know if and when your side hustle could become your main gig?

In this episode of A Little Bit Richer, host Iona Bain is joined by Chartered Accountant and content creator Fis Martins, also know as Finance Matters UK on social media. Fis knows this journey better than most as she left her full time banking position to go all in on her own business. She walks us through the areas to consider to help you decide if your side hustle could become your main job. They discuss everything from devising a strong plan, making sure you’re emotionally ready and building your pension savings for the longer term.

Iona and her guests share their own personal thoughts and opinions in this podcast. These might be different from L&G’s take on things. They give financial guidance for a UK audience that’s relevant at the time of recording. It’s general best practice, not the kind of personalised advice you’d get from a financial adviser.
