Hey HTZ Nation, Jonathon here. I've talked alot about my own experience adopting a rescue dog in the past but for a little reminder, I met Finnigan when he was not quite a year old. I think it's maybe the best age to adopt a dog, skip the puppy drama of the early months but still get the experience of having a young dog in the family. If that sounds ideal for your family, check out this week's HTZ Hound, Jill.
Jill came into Niagara Dog Rescue's care at just 4 months old with her brother, sister and mom, who have all since found homes. Now it's this sweet girls turn, who is about 8 months old and believed to be a Saint Bernard mix. As Saint Bernard's go, she's still on the smaller side at 40lbs.
While she was initally a very nervous pup, Jill has really started to come out of her shell. A home that has another dog to show her the ropes is exactly what we are looking for her. She was much more confident when she could go on walks with her brother. She has been around adults, kids and cats as well and did great with all of them.
If you or someone you know has a dog who could benefit from having a friend around the house, Jill could be the perfect fit for your family. Read more about her by clicking here. You can also apply to adopt Jill by clicking here. If you are successfully chosen as Jill's adopter, our pals at Vansickle Pet Valu and Lundy's Lane Pet Valu will hook you up.
