Tomorrow is a BIG day here at the Morning Mess.  Marty's birthday. It's Pickle Day AND Kara just got back from a road trip concert... so we wondered how far you've traveled to see a show?

Our friend and co-worker, Sammy boy, came in to talk about all sorts of stuff LOL.  We started chatting because he was bragging about just having breakfast at Thee Diner in Cicero and we were all sorts of jealous.  Then it went into his band, The Mid-Daze, and things went all Morning Mess from there!  But seriously... THEE DINER is the freaking boss!  

How did you get hurt playing with a toy?  Christmas is coming and you KNOW your kid or relative is going to get a cool toy that your inner child can't resist trying... just make sure your health insurance is ready because a lot of us get injured doing stupid things with kid toys!  

We are lucky to have Joe Stanley come in every Tuesday to give your legal questions the answers they deserve!  AND we're incredibly lucky to have big hearted Morning Messers like Michele, who sent a message after hearing today's Legal Tuesday and offered to help one of the listeners whose memorial ashes ring didn't work out!  (I've reached out to them to let them know the offer!)

It's a FREE haunt they've been doing for more than 20 years out of nothing but love.  Our friend, Diana, came in to share some of her animals, she also runs MaxMan Reptile Rescue, and to talk about the fun they have and the incredible work and detail that it takes to put on a free haunt of this size!  

We went down memory lane and learned that, despite our age differences, we had similar memories of trick or treating as kids in CNY!  And then Marty and Shannon got their costumes on and tried to raid the office candy stash... of course things went a little Messy before that and we wouldn't have it any other way. Appreciate ya!

Apparently if you congratulate a woman on an engagement it's offensive.  Some etiquette expert said it implies you thought she would never secure an engagement.  But you ARE supposed to congratulate the man because he won his prize?  WHAT?  What in the 1720 are we talking about?  Who's getting offended by what and why?  If you can answer that question, God bless you... because we can't. 

We share the positive every day at 7:05am.  Because the news focuses on the negative and we're sick of it.  And today as we prepared to share the positive we got one of the most positive texts on the Morning Mess Text Line (315-629-9570)... and now we're all mushy and feeling stuff.

It's Back to the Future Day!  October 21st (ok, 2015) was the day they went to the future in Back to the Future 2..... so it gave us a chance to see what we would change if we could.  And we had some funny calls and some poetic answers... you never know what you'll get on the Morning Mess

We can't even begin to imagine life in the wake of Helene and Milton.  We tried to call one friend in Daytona Beach, couldn't get through.  We did get a hold of an old radio friend, Buzzy, in central FL to get an update.  Here's hoping your friends and loved ones are safe too.  

Shannon was so excited to surprise Carrie and Ted from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo with her amazing Red Panda costume!  Because it's the perfect time to use it... ZOO BOO is here!  The next 3 weekends there will be costumes and candy and fun enrichment for the animals at the zoo!  Dress up the kiddos and enjoy our AZA accredited zoo!

We had FM's new head coach Mr. Fiacco on the phone this morning before his first class of the day.  What a cool guy!  He's a true lover of the game and the friendships and life skills it instills in the players.  Shannon's a proud FM grad... as you can see in this throwback pic in her green and white!  

Kara's getting her wisdom teeth out and asked for our wisdom on it... she'll think twice about asking for that again LOL.

Jeremy Nelson came in to perform an acoustic version of his song "Hang on Now" with some members of his band, The Toe Beans.  Before they performed Shannon wowed them with tales of her cat Figaro and his 27 toe beans!  And then they performed and if you missed it... it's here.  Because we were wowed.  The guitars and the vocal harmonies were shiver inducing!  We say it often because it's true... CNY has some insane talent to uncover!  

It's homecoming tonight at CNS as they take on West Genesee... CNS's new head coach, Jim Ryan, came to the studio to talk about the team and turn down Marty's halftime show.  (GOOD CALL, coach... good call)

We've known Wil for 20 years, and a few years ago when he told us he'd been diagnosed with ALS and asked us to host the walk we didn't hesitate.  Nicholas came in with him to talk about this Saturday's walk and how the funds raised stay to help local families living with ALS.  It's the 10th anniversary of the Ice Bucket Challenge too, keep spreading awareness about this heartbreaking disease so we can keep fighting for a cure.
