ST MARY’S SCHOOL WAVERLY HAS INTRODUCED A CELLPHONE-FREE ACADEMIC TIME
In a statement they said
As we continue to prioritise the well-being of our girls, I would like to inform you of an important change that will be implemented from the beginning of the 2025 academic year.
After careful consideration and in response to ongoing research around the impact of devices on adolescent development, St Mary’s School has made the decision to become a cellphone-free campus during the academic school day. This implementation will take effect from Wednesday 15 January 2025, during the hours of 07h15 to 14h15, during which time the girls will not be allowed to use their cellphones and /or smartwatches.
We had a chat with the head mistress of St Mary's Waverly Seipati Shiakallis
