If you’ve been watching Mzansi Magic’s Nyala O…, you’ll know that these aren’t exactly the picture-perfect marriages they might look like from the outside.

The telenovela follows three women and three marriages, exploring what happens after the wedding when love, money, secrets, resentment, forgiveness and identity start putting those relationships to the test.

At the centre of one of those marriages is Kea Maponya, played by Mapaseka Koetle, and her husband Rhami Maponya, played by Motlatsi Mafatshe. Kea is a successful career woman who believes she has figured out the formula for a successful marriage, until she discovers a devastating secret about the man she has been married to for 15 years.

And then there’s Kea’s older sister Mapula, played by Tsholofelo Matshaba. Her marriage to Ernest is entering a completely different kind of crisis. She’s trying to maintain a certain lifestyle while financial secrets and questionable spending start catching up with her and Ernest is beginning to realise that there may be a lot more going on with their money than he knew.
