Deanna and Heaven from The DeKalb County Mental Health Board were our Guest DJs today. We talked about the importance of Mental Health and Wellness and highlighted some Self Care tips to help uplift us when we need it. Self Care is hard for many so these simple tips can really help boost your spirits. 

Jill from the Sycamore Public Library was our Guest DJ! We talked all about some music coming to the library, spring break events, the book sale coming up, and more. They have a packed calendar for you to enjoy! 

Kristin, Jess, and Russ from NIU STEAM were our Guest DJs today. We talked all about their amazing summer camps coming up in June for kids of all ages! We also debuted the date for the 2025 STEM Fest which is an amazing event as well. 

Bart and Biagio from the NIU College of Business were our Guest DJs. We talked all about the NIU Business Olympics coming up which is a competition for high school and community college students to flex their skills in different areas. It's a day full of learning, growing, and networking right on NIU's campus.

Anna from the DeKalb Chamber was our Guest DJ today. We talked about the benefits of being part of the Chamber. We also highlighted the Local Showcase and Spring Show coming up in April and a really cool event called 60 Ideas in 60 Minutes as well. 

Cole from the Rotaract Club of Sycamore was our Guest DJ! We talked about what the organization does a whole. We also highlighted their current Hygiene Drive which will benefit students throughout DeKalb County! We teased their Home Run Derby Fundraiser coming soon as well. 

Kim and Tia from Gather were our Guest DJ's today! We talked about the organization as a whole, how it empowers women, and we highlighted the kickoff lunch coming up on March 20th. We teased some of the events for the year as well! 

Jessi from the JF Glidden Homestead was our Guest DJ today. We talked about the homestead and what it is. We also highlighted the Blacksmithing Demo's and Classes beginning this spring. 

Samantha and Chelsea from the DeKalb Public Library were our Guest DJs today. We highlighted a bunch of cool events coming up at the library like the Mediterranean Cooking Class, World of Reading, the Friends of the Library Book Sale, Jazz In Progress, and more! 

Harvey and Shayna from Safe Passage were our Guest DJs today. We talked about their Walk A Mile fundraising event coming up on April 12th. We also talked about the Fish Fry at Faranda's on Friday's through April 18th which is donating some of the proceeds to them as well.

Steven and Blythe from Stage Coach Players were our Guest DJs today. They told us all about "Wizard Of Oz" opening a week from today, next Thursday and running for two weeks! They are excited to bring this story to life on a stage right here in DeKalb!

Ben Bingle with DCNP/Give DeKalb County was our Guest DJ today. We talked all about Give DeKalb County and what it is, when it is, and how you can participate. Whether you want to donate, or you are a non-profit benefiting from it, mark our calendars for May 1st. John from DeKalb County United and Armir from the DeKalb Cleat Closet were our Guest DJs today! We talked all about the bar crawl coming up with DKCU that is going to benefit the Cleat Closet. We also highlighted what the Cleat Closet is, what they are doing, and how you can get involved! We also talked about the amazing summer of soccer ahead. 

Greg from Arcomusical was our Guest DJ today! We learned all about what Arcomusical is and what they do. We also highlighted an amazing show coming up this weekend called  Transformation Through Rhythm. This is a community concert to fundraise for the Give DeKalb County Bonus Pool on Sunday, February 23, 3:00PM at DeKalb High School Auditorium. It's going to be a wonderful family-friendly concert of music performed by local percussion ensembles.

Katie from the Special Olympics Polar Plunge was our Guest DJ. We talked all about the Special Olympics, what they do, and what the Polar Plunge does for the program.

Christine from Safe Passage was our Guest DJ today. We highlighted the services they offer, what they do, and why they are so needed in our community. We also highlighted several ways to get involved with them throughout the year whether its a sponsorship or volunteering! 

Sonia from the Christ Community Outreach Center was our Guest DJ today! We talked about some awesome programs they have going on now and coming in the future. We discussed:  1) Conversational Café-Conversational Café at the Outreach Center is hosted every third Saturday of the month. This new program aims to create an engaging environment where individuals can practice their English speaking skills in a supportive and nonjudgmental setting. Light refreshments will be available to spark conversations. 2) Gospel Justice Center at Christ Community Outreach Center -Legal Aid Center hosted the first Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm at Christ Community Outreach Center beginning Saturday, February 1st. Walk-Ins are welcome! 3) Club 316-The Outreach Center is launching a new program called Club 316! Ashley and Chris from The Suter Company were our Guest DJs today. They are celebrating 100 years this year and they are doing something very special to celebrate. They have launched their 100th Anniversary Community Enrichment Grants program that will run through the end of this year. The Community Enrichment Grant program is an application-based grant program, open to non-profits that serve the residents of DeKalb County, Illinois. With four separate grant cycles throughout the 2025 calendar year, a total of $100,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations that have a specific project need to help improve the lives of those right here in our community! Their Cycle 1 Funding Application window is NOW open until February 14, 2025; the first winner will be announced at their Company Kickoff celebration on Friday, March 14, 2025. 

Jessica from CASA DeKalb County was our Guest DJ. Stacie from the Kishwaukee United Way was our Guest DJ today! We talked about their Empowerment Lunch coming up in February. It's going to be an incredible day. We also highlighted their Day Of Caring, their 211 Kiosks, and much more. 

Kim from Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County was our Guest DJ today. We talked all about their current build, what's coming up in 2025, and their Music Bingo fundraiser! 

Katie and Katie from the Northwestern Medicine Ben Gordon Center were our Guest DJ's today. We talked specifically about two very crucial programs there, the Living Room and the MCAT program. There is free confidential assistance available with the Living Room 24/7. The MCAT program is also a great resource. They are mobile and can come to you if needed! Both work hand in hand to assist those who need assistance in their mental health journey!

Rylie from Family Service Agency was our Guest DJ. We discussed what they do, what services they offer, and an overall discussion on how they can help. We also talked about the recent fire that happened here in DeKalb and about how they were able to help coordinate assistance for those who were displaced. It was a great discussion and really showed the solidarity in our community! 

Jill from the Sycamore Public Library was our Guest DJ today. We checked in on their winter reading challenge, Are You Yeti To Read, to see how that is going. We also discussed some highlights coming up this year for example, Harry Potter's Half Birthday celebration. We also highlighted some new tech they have for people to borrow!
