The CNY Scottish Games and Celtic Festival is happening at Long Branch Park in Liverpool on Saturday August 9th. The festival was founded over 80 years ago and is still going strong as a favorite event in Central New York. Heather Jovanelli is a committee member and volunteer. The United Way Day of Caring is happening on Thursday August 7th with the United Way of Central New York, where volunteers branch out across the area to help local non-profits by literally donating their time and talents. One of those organizations receiving help that day is Syracuse Habitat for Humanity. Sarah Bruce is their Executive Director. The group that will be helping Habitat for Humanity on their Day of Caring is Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.
