May is Mental Health Awareness Month and last year alone, Helio Health served more than 20 thousand people recovering from mental health issues, substance use and housing challenges. Kathleen Gaffney-Babb is Helio Health’s President and CEO and she says they are busier than ever. Register for the Helio Health Run for Recovery, once again happening on Saturday May 16th at Green Lakes State Park  at http://Helio.Health  or just show up the day of the race to participate.

We move now to the month of June which is Pride Month and the Sage Upstate Pride 5K is happening on Saturday, June 6th at Long Branch Park in Liverpool. Race Director Barb Genton says that this race raises much needed funds to keep Sage Upstate going all year. The deadline to register for the Sage Upstate Pride 5 K is May 18th if you want a t shirt but you can register online through June 5th or just show up the day of the June 6th race and participate. The fifth Annual Legs Against Lyme Walk with the Central New York Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Alliance is being held on Saturday, May 30th at Long Branch Park beginning at 10 am. May is obviously a month to celebrate mothers everywhere, and that’s the reason why the CNY Diaper Bank is celebrating ten years of making an impact in the area. They are hosting Make A Mother’s Day Diaper Drive all month to provide low income families in the area and make an even bigger impact. Michela Hugo is founder. As Michela said, all this month, monetary donations will be matched by The John Ben Snow Foundation and Memorial Trust up to 10,000 dollars.
