The Walk to End Alzheimer’s with the Alzheimer’s Association is happening on Sunday, November 2nd at the SRC Arena on the OCC Campus. Doors open at 9 am and the Opening Ceremony and Walk begins at 10 am. It is free to register but donations are greatly appreciated. The Onondaga County Department of Emergency Communications/911 Center is behind the Emergency Services Career Fair being held this Tuesday, October 14th at the Manlius Fire Department. There will be a lot of different Emergency Service Careers represented with employers to talk to on the spot! Regina Morris is a Public Education/ Recruitment Team Member for 911. Again the Career Fair is this Tuesday from 3 – 7 pm at the Manlius Fire Department.
The Flags of Honor and Gratitude, honoring Veterans, Active Military Members and First Responders, have been flown for the last 12 years in Central New York. Their location this year has moved, but that means that even more flags can be flown. The Onondaga North Rotary is responsible for running it every year. Member Phyllis Danks says this is the final opportunity to buy a flag this year as the deadline is today. Find the application at http://OnondagaNorthRotary.com and again, the deadline is today, Sunday, October 12th to purchase a flag for this year. The ceremony is being held on November 8th.
